CCT was commissioned to roll out a curriculum on values education prepared by The Asia Foundation in Sinhala/Tami/English covering six values that are common to all communities, namely: Peace, Respect, Compassion, Tolerance, Honesty and Sincerity and Working Together. The curriculum was aimed at addressing some of the fundamental misconceptions associated with religious intolerance. CCT explained the curriculum to youth leaders from the main religions in Vavuniya, Mannar, Trincomalee, Ampara, Kurunegala, Kalutara and Colombo districts. This was followed by a 3-day residential training of trainers (ToT) on the Curriculum for selected youth leaders from the National Youth Service Council NYSC and the NGO – Sri Lanka Unites (SLU). The final event was a convention for youth organized by NYSC for 150 youth leaders in Kurunegala District.
